Bridgeland’s Nature Fest

American wildlife biologist and nature conservationist Jeff Corwin of Animal Planet’s “The Jeff Corwin Experience” will host this epic family events. Help them celebrate 10 years, and come out to see the Great American Duck Race, rides from the Austin Bike Zoo, armadillo races, and more. There will also be a petting zoo, crocodile encounters, inflatable zone, arts and crafts, food trucks, and interactive drum performance, and a farmer’s market. Visit bridgeland.com.

Cane Island Car Show

Katy Area Safety Fest

The Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department will host it’s second annual Safety Fest, sponsored by Katy Mills. The event is free to the public and will feature personnel, equipment, and apparatus from 20+ agencies that serve the Greater Katy area. There will be Fire and EMS demonstrations, a Life Flight helicopter landing, Junior Firefighter Challenge, an inflatable play area, and more.

Katy ISD Folk Life Festival

Join in the fun at the 32nd Annual Katy ISD Folk Life Festival. Visitors will learn what life was like for a Texas pioneer in the early 1800’s. There will be soldier re-enactments, blacksmith, bee-keeping, and crafting demonstrations, presentations on Native American culture, a Texas cowboy camp, pioneer and western-themed activities, tours of exhibits, and more. Katy ISD Summer Band Camp

Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14, 2017

Katy ISD invites band students in seventh through ninth grade to participate in their summer band camp. The camp will include daily section rehearsals, full band rehearsals, and fun music based electives. Lunch is also part of the camp. The cost of the camp is $130 and will include a t-shirt if registered by June 5th. All registrations after that date will need to include a late registration fee of $25 totaling $155. All registrations must be postmarked by Friday, June 23rd. The camp concludes with the Grand Finale Concert on Friday morning at 9am. After the concert, those students wishing to extend the fun a little longer can join in the group’s optional trip to Typhoon Texas for an additional $35 (park admission, meal, bus transportation, and drinks are included in price) for a total camp cost of $165. Cost goes up t0 $190 after June 5, 2017. For more information, visit katyisd.org.

Literary and Fine Arts Festival and Parade

The Literary and Fine Arts Festival and Parade event will begin at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library, eventually making its way to LaCenterra, with a book character parade through the center. Spectators can enjoy a day filled with displays of student art and writing, musical entertainment from student choirs and orchestras from Katy ISD, Lamar CISD, and Fort Bend ISD.
