Annual Prescription Drug Take-Back

Turn in unused or expired medication for safe disposal. This is an effort by the Katy ISD Police, along with the DEA to help Katy families rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Contact officer James Grima with questions at 281-237-4024.

Over Exposure Workshop

They will host an open discussion, and Michelle Plamondon of Katy Psychiatry, Marty Elkins of Crime Victims & Employee Support Services of the Texas Department of Public Safety, and Bill Hastings, Chief of Police for the City of Katy, will answer questions.

Typhoon Texas Kids Triathlon

Registration is now open for the largest kids’ triathlon in the world. Sign your little athlete up. Short course includes a 100-meter swim, 2-mile bike ride, and a 1-mile run, the long course will have a 200-meter swim, 4-mile bike ride, and 2-mile run. Event is limited to 1,000 kids per course. Water Safety Event

KATY Aquatics is partnering with Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus to host a FREE Water Safety event for the whole family. The event is part of a highly-effective water safety campaign to educate families about youth drowning that will include free swim lessons and water safety skills for children ages 3 and up. There will be food samples from local restaurants, kayak rides, a firetruck display, and special appearances from beloved characters like Princess Ariel and the Chick-fil-A cow. Register online at www.katyaquatics.org.
