Celebrate Summer Luncheon

April Carter-Havran will be bringing before and after home décor, and show the group how to bring new life to old furniture. The guest speaker will be Karen Kilby, a certified personal trainer who recently published Becoming a Woman of Purpose, a daily devotional. She tells how God restored her marriage and changed her attitude toward her husband, and shares other dilemmas they have faced with God’s grace. Cost is $18 per person. Pancakes for Patriots

Doors open at 10:40 am, pancakes will be served at 11:00 am. Event closes at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $7 for all you can eat, and $4 for a regular meal. They will be commemorating the Iraq War; the new Commander Frank Torres will be speaking. All proceeds benefit veterans in need.

Taste of Katy Tailgate

This free community event showcases the variety of Katy restaurants and caterers who donate “tastes” of their foods to the community. There will also be live entertainment from the Rankin Twins and Justin Van Sant. Bring the whole family for sports activities, games, raffles, and more. The Katy ISD cheerleaders will be cheering and teaching kids cheers. The event supports YMCA Operation Backpack, which provides backpacks and school supplies to Katy area students in need. Guests are encourages to bring a backpack or school supplies. Everyone who donates an item will be entered into hourly drawings for two season football tickets to the winner’s choice of Katy ISD high school. This community event is made possibly by the donations of Katy restaurants and underwritten by Matt Schomburg State Farm Agency.
