National Parks Make for Memorable Family Vacations
Hey Katyites! If you want to get back to nature and experience some of the best hiking, biking, fishing, and family fun America has to offer, you’ll want to visit of these national parks this summer.
Big Bend National Park,
Texas
With over 801,000 acres, Big Bend is one of the largest, yet least visited national parks. Known as Texas’ Best Kept Secret, visitors can ride the Rio Grande surrounded by massive canyons, vast desert expanses, and a spectacular
Mountain range. Families enjoy fishing, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting and family activities galore. About 690 miles from Katy by car.
Biscayne National Park,
Florida
Located just south of Miami along the extreme southeastern coast of Florida, this 181,500-acre park contains a large number of small barrier islands off the coast. The park has many unique features including the a blue water bay,
extensive coral reefs, fish and other marine animals, sea birds, and subtropical trails on the islands and the mainland. About 1200 miles from Katy by car.
Rocky Mountain National Park,
Colorado
This park allows kids the chance to experience winter and summer in the same day! The higher elevations have snow for snowball fights, while down the road in the lower elevation, you’ll find fields of wildflowers and weather in
the ‘70s. Too many terrific trails and family-friendly programs to mention. Approximately 1200 miles from Katy by car.
Yellowstone & Grand Teton
National Parks, Wyoming
