Katy ISD Folk Life Festival

Join in the fun at the 32nd Annual Katy ISD Folk Life Festival. Visitors will learn what life was like for a Texas pioneer in the early 1800’s. There will be soldier re-enactments, blacksmith, bee-keeping, and crafting demonstrations, presentations on Native American culture, a Texas cowboy camp, pioneer and western-themed activities, tours of exhibits, and more. Katy ISD Summer Band Camp

Monday, July 10 – Friday, July 14, 2017
Tompkins High School
4400 Falcon Landing Blvd.

Katy ISD invites band students in seventh through ninth grade to participate in their summer band camp. The camp will include daily section rehearsals, full band rehearsals, and fun music based electives. Lunch is also part of the camp. The cost of the camp is $130 and will include a t-shirt if registered by June 5th. All registrations after that date will need to include a late registration fee of $25 totaling $155. All registrations must be postmarked by Friday, June 23rd. The camp concludes with the Grand Finale Concert on Friday morning at 9am. After the concert, those students wishing to extend the fun a little longer can join in the group’s optional trip to Typhoon Texas for an additional $35 (park admission, meal, bus transportation, and drinks are included in price) for a total camp cost of $165. Cost goes up t0 $190 after June 5, 2017. For more information, visit katyisd.org.

Taylor High School Jazz Band Crustacean Ball

Join the Taylor High School jazz band for a fun evening with delicious cajun fare provided by Orleans Seafood Kitchen. Tickets for the concert, dinner, and dessert bar will be $25 and includes a half pound of shrimp, two pounds of crawfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage. Tickets for the concert and dessert bar are $15.
